23 Spots for Incredible Eiffel Tower Views in Paris

The official symbol of Paris, the Eiffel Tower welcomes more than 6 million tourists annually.

There’s no question that the Eiffel Tower itself offers some of the greatest views in Paris, even though I strongly believe that climbing the tower is worthwhile.

23 Best Eiffel Tower Views in Paris

Incredible Eiffel Tower Views in Paris So, let’s get started on the list immediately!

Tips: This list typically arranges items from those closest to the Eiffel Tower to those closest to it.

1. Rue de l’Université and Rue Buenos Aryes

The tower’s base may be reached right away from two separate streets: Rue de l’Université and Rue Buenos Ayres. The tower’s north side, Rue de l’Université, and the south side, Rue Buenos Ayres, are incredibly beautiful.

These streets, which perfectly enclose the Eiffel Tower between stunning Haussman-style structures, are on opposing sides. Although Rue de l’Universite is a little more active and more well-known, expect people to be in your shot at every intersection unless you’re here first thing.

While Rue Buenos Ayres is not as popular as Rue de l’Université, it is still somewhat less congested, so you shouldn’t expect it to be completely deserted. The people quickly dispersed, and the street became rather deserted after a short while, which made it ideal for getting a wonderful picture.

2. Pont d’Iena

The bridge that crosses the Seine in front of the Eiffel Tower is called the Pont d’Iena. You can stand in the middle of the road for a magnificent shot but approach going both ways.

It would be best to run to the middle of the street as soon as the light turns red, having crossed it at the crosswalk at the far end of the bridge. In addition, arrive before traffic gets heavy in the morning.

3. Champs de Mars

Paris’s Champs de Mars is a lovely park with lawns, seats, tree-lined walkways, and many breathtaking vistas. In addition to the main walkway shown above, other winding paths around the tower’s edge provide a different perspective of the Iron Lady.

4. Trocadero Platform

The expansive building and observation deck, Trocadero, is across the river from the Eiffel Tower. Though it can get crowded, this is one of the most iconic views of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and I still adore this location.

Even with the crowds, there’s no better place to watch the Eiffel Tower shine at night than the Trocadero because of its amazing, full, and direct perspective.

Pro Tip: The Eiffel Tower’s regular lights come on at the end of the day. When it is completely dark, the tower’s shining lights come on for five minutes at the top of the hour or from 8 p.m. to 8:05 p.m.

5. Trocadero Fountains

Trocadero is fantastic because, despite its popularity, it’s quite large and has lots of lovely spots for people to hang out and snap pictures.

Even when the fountains aren’t operating, the ledges by the fountains make a lovely location for a photo with a view of the tower.

6. Trocadero Stairs

The stairs that go up to the main viewing platform at Trocadero are the last location in Trocadero that’s perfect for an Eiffel Tower photo op.

As you can see, there were many people about as it was midday, but the angle makes the crowd less noticeable and provides a good perspective of the tower.

7. Avenue de Camoens

This small but very beautiful street is located just a few streets down from the Trocadero platform. Avenue de Camoens is gorgeous, and because it is perched on a slope, you can still get a fantastic view of the tower.

You can snap a photograph in a few spots, so be prepared to wait in line. This location becomes increasingly popular every year, especially for real photo sessions.

8. Bir Hakeim Bridge

Located directly downstream from the tower and featuring the Seine in the front, the Bir Hakeim Bridge presents an amazing vantage point. This bridge has many distinctive places to view the tower and snap photos.

The first is on the opposite side of the bridge from the tower; there’s a tiny opening in the foliage where you can glimpse the base of the tower’s front legs.

The second view is of the France Reborn statue from the little overlook on the bridge. This view is more in line with the Seine’s left bank.

At last, you’ll truly ride along this bridge and experience the most picturesque metro views in all of Paris if you take Metro Line 6 between the Passy and Bir Hakeim Stations.

9. Rue de Monttessuy + Avenue de la Bourdonnais

One of the best views of the Iron Lady is at the crossroads of Rue de Monttessuy and Avenue de la Bourdonnais. You can view most of the Eiffel Tower here, but it’s far less crowded than Rue de l’Université. This is a very underappreciated location.

The buildings on Rue de Monttessuy are more beautiful the closer you go to Avenue de la Bourdonnais. However, the street is rather lengthy and offers a similar perspective of the tower from every location.

10. Passerelle Debilly

A contemporary pedestrian-only bridge, Passerelle Debilly, is located upstream of the Eiffel Tower. You can easily frame the Eiffel Tower with the steel columns of the bridge, and the archways provide a fascinating backdrop.

11. Eiffel Tower Old Timey Photographers

This is a major hidden gem in Paris. It is so “secret” that it is difficult to pinpoint its exact location.

The cutest tiny vintage photo booth is operated by a bunch of women who will use their vintage cameras to snap your shot and then put it on the front page of an antique newspaper.

They always set up somewhere slightly different around the Eiffel Tower and need to have defined hours. We happened into them at Passerelle Debilly, but you can also find them around Pont d’Iena.

It is the most adorable little memento to take home from Paris; there is no set price; donations only. As you walk around the tower, look out for these women!

12Avenue de New York

On the other side of the Seine from the tower, Avenue de New York runs directly alongside it. The Avenue is one of my favorite strolling paths in Paris because of the trees that border it and wonderfully frame the Eiffel Tower.

Many excellent “spots” along the walkway stretch down the river, so there isn’t just one ideal Place to Place the Avenue.

13. Port Debilly

The walkway across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower is called Port Debilly. On either side of the Pont d’Iena, there are a lot of boats moored here, but there is also a lot of open area that is ideal for photography. Here, by the sea, you have the most amazing views of the Eiffel Tower, with the whole structure visible.

However, use caution along the river, as no guardrails keep you from falling in!

14. Le Recrutement Café

A few blocks northeast of the tower is a quaint small café called Café le recrutement. The tower can be seen down the street, and the front façade of the café is beautiful if you stand on the other side.

I adore this picture because it embodies so many classic Parisian elements: the cafe, the small street, the tower chefs kiss, and the traditional Parisian architecture of the building above the restaurant.

Le Recrutement is only a short stroll from the Pont Alexandre III and Les Invalides.

15. Pont Alexandre III

With its enormous artwork, beautiful reliefs, and iron Art Nouveau lampposts, the Pont Alexandre III is THE most elaborate and opulent Beuax-Arts bridge in Paris.

The bridge’s four corners include small, curving protrusions ideal for taking stunning pictures of the structure, and its right bank offers a lovely, partially obstructed perspective of the tower.

16. Port de la Concorde

This sidewalk has a retaining wall where you can sit and take photos.

Here’s a fairly amazing view of the tower if you stroll along the walkway along the Seine between the Pont Alexandre III and the Place de la Concorde. The river, the majestic columns, and the golden-winged horses of the Pont Alexandre III are the aspects of the image that I find most appealing.

17. Arc de Triomphe

It is highly recommended that you not miss the Arc de Triomphe, which boasts one of the most breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

This breathtaking, up-close view of the Eiffel Tower awaits you at the top of the arch after you ascend the spiral staircase.

Pro Tip: Check out my Guide to the Paris Museum Pass for more information on the Arc de Triomphe covered by the pass.

18. Place de la Concorde

Located between the Champs Elysées and the Tuileries Garden in Paris, the Place de Placencorde is a historic plaza that served as the site of the primary execution during the French Revolution. Egypt gifted the obelisk, which is surrounded by two exquisite fountains. The Eiffel Tower can be seen in the distance from the Place proper.

19. Bell Towers of Notre Dame

Due to the 2019 rooftop fire, Notre Dame is currently closed for rebuilding. However, the church is scheduled to reopen on December 8, 2024, so it should be possible to visit the bell tower again.

You may wander along the rooftop, enter the tower to observe one of the bells, get up close and personal with gargoyles, and take in some of the best views of Paris. However, entry to the bell tower is restricted daily and requires a special ticket.

20. Pompidou Center

The Pompidou Center is a very special modern art museum in Paris since it is a sort of “inside-out” museum, meaning that the outside of the building displays escalators and pipes.

Although there isn’t a free museum in Paris, you may still travel up the escalator tube and enjoy the free views from the top.

The elevator on the tube offers fantastic views of Paris and the Eiffel Tower, but head to the open-air terraces on levels 5 and 6 for unrestricted views!

21. Galeries Lafayette Rooftop

With sites around France, Galeries Lafayette is a well-known luxury department store in Paris. The flagship store is beautiful, with a detailed glass dome rising over the area.

The panoramic terrace is free on the seventh floor for anyone using the escalators. Here, you may enjoy breathtaking views of the rooftops of Paris, the Eiffel Tower, and the Opera Garnier, which is nearby.

22. Printemps Rooftop

Printemps Femme is a large, opulent department store with a stunning glass roof on the top level next to Galeries Lafayette on Boulevard Haussmann. For magnificent views of Paris, you may also ascend to the rooftop patio, which is free.

This patio is considerably smaller than the one at Galeries Lafayette, but it’s still pretty lovely, with many plants, seating, and few people. You still have a fantastic view of the Eiffel Tower and the Paris rooftops, so you have a different perspective of the opera house.

23. Sacré Coeur Domes

The domes of the Sacré Coeur Basilica in Montmartre occupy the last Place on this list. Few people know that Sacré Coeur has an amazing panoramic view from up in the dome, even though many people visit it!

Just before you approach the basilica, keep an eye out for the sign pointing you in the direction of the panoramic vista entrance. After paying the entrance charge, you’ll ascend the 292 spiral staircase steps to the dome’s rooftop.

The Wrap Up

The Eiffel Tower is a stunning and awe-inspiring structure in Paris, and it’s no wonder it’s a beloved backdrop for photos and inspiration for viewpoints. While there is no shortage of spots where you’ll see the tower peaking out above the buildings in Paris, the locations in this list are, in my opinion, some of the most beautiful and iconic views of La Tour Eiffel in Paris – I’m sure you’ll love them too.
